And, I'm Back...

Yes, I am back to the land of blogging. I say it all the time, and it's true: when life gets crazy, my blog is always the first thing to suffer. Mos of the time it just seems like there isn't enough time in each day....

Anyway, life is a little more relaxed, right now. We are all on summer vacation, though I will be going back on August 12 and the students go back on August 15 (yep, I don't want to even THINK about that, right now).

No matter how crazy life gets, I always manage to find time to scrap. One of my most enjoyable moments each month is opening up my Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit and seeing what new goodies Amy has sent me. Working with her has been such an amazing experience, and I will be a part of her team for as long as she will have me!

Since I haven't shared a lot of my current layouts, I wanted to do that, now:

This first layout was created using the March Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit. I LOVED this kit!

Another layout using the March BOAF kit.

For this layout, I used the April Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit and a new favorite sketch site, Page Drafts. I really low the fun patterns in this kit.

Another April BOAF Kit Co. layout.

And another April layout....

And a final April layout.

This layout was created using the May Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit and a Page Draft sketch.

Another May BOAF Kit Co. kit and my first layout using my brand new Cameo.

Another May BOAF layout....

 And another.....

And a CARD (I don't do many of those babies)

 And a final May layout.

Moving on to the June Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit. This is a definite favorite kit of mine.
I created this card using the June BOAF Kit Co. kit and fiber paste. Such a fun medium.

Another June BOAF Kit Co. kit. This was inspired by a layout my Ashley Horton over at the OA blog.

Another June layout.....

And a final June layout.

And finally, the July Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit. Amy created such a fun summer-perfect kit this month!

Another July BOAF Kit Co. layout. This one's for my BOM album.

Another July layout.....

 And a final July layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I promise I will try to be better at blogging. Especially now that I have a new smart phone and have decided to join the world of instagram :)

Have a blessed weekend!

Today is the Day

Today is the start of the second annual Birds of a Feather Lovebirds Crop! We'd love to have you join us for three days of challenges, games, fellowship and the ever famous BOAF Bingo!

Today is also the day that the new Scrap Chick team is being introduced on the Birds of a Feather Kit Co. blog. I am thrilled to announce that Amy asked me to stick around for another term as the Design Team Leader. I've loved my time working with Amy, her amazing kits and the great teams of designers. Now I can't wait to work with the new team of talented chickies. To find out who will be joining me, check in at the blog every couple of hours.

Now, because we are having a crop, I created two challenges and layout examples. My first challenge is to use song lyrics on a layout. I used part of the lyrics from a Bruno Mars song for this special layout of my daughter.

My second challenge is to use a list of 10 things you love on a layout. They can be random things or items in a specific category (like I did). My layout is about my 10 favorite songs, right now.

These are just two of the many fun challenges we have lined up for you over at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. and we'd love for you to stop by the forum, check out the challenges and join in on all the fun!

Have a blessed Friday!

See, I told you this was a stunning kit! Now, I want to share my current creations using this kit.

This first layout evolved around the Pink Paislee Portfolio Photograms frame. The minute I saw this one, I knew I HAD to use it on a layout about Little Man.
Once I got started, I went with the hexagon theme in the background paper, cutting my own out of various papers from the kit and extras. I also used the Jenni Bowlin small chipboard hexagons to add contrast and dimension to the layout (some of the smaller hexagons are layered on the Chipboard and others were created using the chipboard as a guide, but not layered on it...so they are flat)
To finish off the layout, I layered my "T" with the "Hello Handsome" circle that I cut from the Glitz Design banner and I was finished.

And a couple of close ups:

My next project is a (GASP) CARD! I started out using a super easy card sketch from Kimber McCray, and then the card morphed from there. I LOVE the red gingham paper with the bathing beauty (available in the extra paper) so decided I would use her on the card. I fussy cut around the banner pieces, to give it some interest, then added the washi tape accented circle and my sentiment. Can I just say, this is one card that I am totally in loving? And, it didn't take me hours to create ;)

And a close up:

My last layout is one that I created for a tutorial. I took some of the naked Jenni Bowlin chipboard from the kit, covered it with glitter and then sealed it with Glossy Accents. This was such a fun layout to create, and as you can see, I'm a little obsessed with hexagons right now ;)

And a couple of close ups:

As you can see, I've loved working with this kit, so far. Remember, if you haven't picked up the kit yet, there are still a few available.
Also, we love to see your creations at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. You can always share in our GALLERY and/or over at our FACEBOOK page.

Have a wonderful Thursday!
