Sunday Scrappy Challenge at Birds of a Feather Kit Co.

Happy December, Everyone!
Today I have a fun challenge to share with you from over at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. This month the Scrap Chicks are trying something different. Instead of posting a technique, each Chick will post a challenge, instead. This means that every Sunday, a new challenge will be posted for our members.
If you accept the challenge, you will have until 11:59pm, PST, on Saturday to complete each challenge and post it. If you do, you will then have your name placed into a drawing for a small RAK.
I know that December is a super hectic time of year, and I know that we need to maximize our scrappy time. Hopefully these challenges will spark your mojo and help you get some holiday pictures (or everyday pictures) into albums.
Now, without further ado......Here is this week's current challenge:
As many of you know, I LOVE to use a single picture that I've printed out numerous times. Now, I know that we have tons of pictures to scrap, but this is such a FUN design element and I find myself using it more and more. You can lay the pictures out in a row (like I did with this challenge layout) or layer them, or stagger them. I've found that Page Draft sketches are an AWESOME help when I want to use this technique ;)
So, your challenge is simple: Create a layout using a singe picture that you've printed out numerous times. This means you must use the same picture at least twice on your layout. And, no other picture is allowed!

Here is my example:
And a couple of close ups:

Remember, this challenge is open until Saturday at 11:59pm PST. I'd love to see what you can create using this technique!
Have a blessed Sunday,
~Linda~

Welcome, December!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Birds of a Feather Kit Co. and Blue Fern Sudios Blog Hop!

Happy Sunday, Everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful, scrappy weekend!
I know, that over at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. we are having one amazing Bird-day Crop! There are lots of fun challenges from the Scrap Chicks to help even the most mojo-challenged scrapper get her scrap on!
And, to make things even more fun, BOAF is doing a one day Blog Hop in conjunction with Blue Fern Studios. Now, before I go any farther, if you haven't heard of Blue Fern Studios, you NEED to check them out! They have some of the most amazing chipboard designs around, and I've loved creating with them.

And, without any further ado:
Welcome to the Blue Fern Studios and Birds of a Feather Kit Co. Birthday Blog Hop!
Hopefully, you have been directed here from the Birds of a Feather blog. If you haven't, please head back to the Birds of a Feather blog and start hopping from there.
Remember, in order to qualify for the prize, you MUST hop to and comment on each Scrap Chick's blog :)

For my blog hop project, I decided to use my chipboard pieces (I pulled one from the September BOAF kit) with one of the Bird-day Crop challenges, the sketch challenge.
I grabbed the sketch and some Homecoming pictures, fired up my Cameo and got creating.
To begin, I painted my "Blooming Foliage" BF chipboard piece black, to give the layout some pop. I then layered that piece with several flowers that I cut using my Cameo.
I added several layers using patterned paper banners and then cut apart one of the "Doily Banner" chipboard pieces to add in (the chipboard is super easy to cut, which I LOVED!)
To finish off the entire layout, I added in my title and a few mini pearls to give the layout a pop of color.

And a Couple of Close Ups:

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my project. Now you need to hop over to Janet's Blog.

Before you go, since this weekend is the Birds of a Feather Bird-day Crop, and since we are celebrating three amazing years, Amy has a special gift to offer you:
All hoppers can receive 10% off your Blue Fern order if you order through BOAF by the crop deadline, Wednesday the 16th. All you need to do is send Amy a private message via the message board OR the gallery, or send an email to birdsofafeatherkits@gmail.com .

Have an amazing Sunday!

Happy Tuesday, All!
I wanted to take a moment to share the August Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit. Amy has done another amazing job putting together this kit. She mixed pieces from the Glitz "Color Me Happy" line with pieces from the Simple Stories "I {heart} Summer" line. The end result is a super fun, super color, super perfect for summer pictures, kit!

See, isn't that a fun kit?

And, since this is back-to-school month, I've had early reveal dates for this kit. The first two layouts were created this weekend.

This layout was inspired by one by Scrapbook Circle DT member, Ursula Schneider.

And this project is a Post-It holder. I created one last year for myself, and decided that I needed to make one for my best friend, and fellow teacher, Toda.
You can check out the tutorial, HERE

It's hard to believe that I only have one more reveal with this kit, especially since I just received my kit on Saturday :D I'll be back this weekend to share the rest of my creations with you.

Blessings,
~Linda~

And, I'm Back...

Yes, I am back to the land of blogging. I say it all the time, and it's true: when life gets crazy, my blog is always the first thing to suffer. Mos of the time it just seems like there isn't enough time in each day....

Anyway, life is a little more relaxed, right now. We are all on summer vacation, though I will be going back on August 12 and the students go back on August 15 (yep, I don't want to even THINK about that, right now).

No matter how crazy life gets, I always manage to find time to scrap. One of my most enjoyable moments each month is opening up my Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit and seeing what new goodies Amy has sent me. Working with her has been such an amazing experience, and I will be a part of her team for as long as she will have me!

Since I haven't shared a lot of my current layouts, I wanted to do that, now:

This first layout was created using the March Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit. I LOVED this kit!

Another layout using the March BOAF kit.

For this layout, I used the April Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit and a new favorite sketch site, Page Drafts. I really low the fun patterns in this kit.

Another April BOAF Kit Co. layout.

And another April layout....

And a final April layout.

This layout was created using the May Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit and a Page Draft sketch.

Another May BOAF Kit Co. kit and my first layout using my brand new Cameo.

Another May BOAF layout....

 And another.....

And a CARD (I don't do many of those babies)

 And a final May layout.

Moving on to the June Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit. This is a definite favorite kit of mine.
I created this card using the June BOAF Kit Co. kit and fiber paste. Such a fun medium.

Another June BOAF Kit Co. kit. This was inspired by a layout my Ashley Horton over at the OA blog.

Another June layout.....

And a final June layout.

And finally, the July Birds of a Feather Kit Co. kit. Amy created such a fun summer-perfect kit this month!

Another July BOAF Kit Co. layout. This one's for my BOM album.

Another July layout.....

 And a final July layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I promise I will try to be better at blogging. Especially now that I have a new smart phone and have decided to join the world of instagram :)

Have a blessed weekend!

Today is the Day

Today is the start of the second annual Birds of a Feather Lovebirds Crop! We'd love to have you join us for three days of challenges, games, fellowship and the ever famous BOAF Bingo!

Today is also the day that the new Scrap Chick team is being introduced on the Birds of a Feather Kit Co. blog. I am thrilled to announce that Amy asked me to stick around for another term as the Design Team Leader. I've loved my time working with Amy, her amazing kits and the great teams of designers. Now I can't wait to work with the new team of talented chickies. To find out who will be joining me, check in at the blog every couple of hours.

Now, because we are having a crop, I created two challenges and layout examples. My first challenge is to use song lyrics on a layout. I used part of the lyrics from a Bruno Mars song for this special layout of my daughter.

My second challenge is to use a list of 10 things you love on a layout. They can be random things or items in a specific category (like I did). My layout is about my 10 favorite songs, right now.

These are just two of the many fun challenges we have lined up for you over at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. and we'd love for you to stop by the forum, check out the challenges and join in on all the fun!

Have a blessed Friday!
